tuesday - mr. samuel isn't feeling very well and since i don't have much experience with this sort of thing, i have no clue what's wrong with him! my guess is that he either has an ear infection or is teething. i'm going with the former since there are NO signs what-so-ever that his little teeth are coming in. no bump, no redness, no drooling. nothing. and when i touched his ear, he let out a pretty loud yelp! he's running a low-grade fever - 100.3 - and is coughing with a runny nose. guess it could be just a cold but i want to be proactive before it turns into a full-blow ear infection. so following my wonderful sister-in-law angela's advice, i gave him special holistic ear drops. ok, these things STINK! they're made with garlic and olive oil. which makes aaron and i quite hungry for italian food :)
wednesday - gosh darn it, i think the drops worked! we gave them to sam all day yesterday, along with echinacea drops, and he woke up this morning a happy boy! we'll see how the rest of the day goes - he's at brenda's - but i have a feeling he's fine. what an immune system this boy has! i have some really cute pictures of sam with cotton in his ears to keep the drops in that i will post soon.
wow, i just can't believe the weather today! the wind is whipping and the rain is horizontal. our basement has waterfalls coming in through the windows. the inground pool which was empty yesterday, is now overflowing and coming in under the basement door. and we don't have power to boot! so no vacuuming or running the pump. we moved most things off of the ground that could get damaged. aaron and i stayed home with sam since brenda doesn't have power either and they closed UNH and will be closing jordon family eyecare soon. it's a little cool in the house - about 62 so sam is bundled up in fleece. he's loves having us both home!
yeah! the power came back on around 12pm. the clean up begins! after driving around, we see that some people are way worse off than us and are completely surrounded by water. roads are closed everywhere, power is still out in a lot of places. and it's supposed to keep raining until wednesday!
we had a nice little weekend - on saturday, we headed up to meredith to pick up a hot tub. yup. a hot tub. we're so excited!! it won't be installed until after the backyard is redone but just having it makes me smile. sam was in good spirits all day and downed so much milk (which is not like him...)! i think it's a growth spurt. he feels heavier and heavier every day. we weighed him on our postage scale and although he wiggles around a lot, we think he's about 18 pounds. sunday, aaron took sam to grama woods' and see the rest of the family. i stayed behind and got so much done. it had been about 2 months since i had an afternoon to myself. but i did miss them a bunch :)
our little peanut is getting so mobile! he's **trying** to crawl (ok, he just "swims" but it's close), then gets mad and gives up. but it makes us laugh! his newest trick is he can go from sitting to down on his belly if he wants a toy. i bet in the next few weeks, we'll have a crawler on our hands! ahhh, i'm not ready! guess we should really get serious and babyproof the house. he also is quite the face-maker! we're really getting a kick out of his silly personality.
sam's 1st easter! he had a great day and was in good spirits all day. he wore his special easter outfit from grammie morin and looked adorable! we went to aaron's aunt lisa's house in raymond and met up with the rest of the family. it was a big crowd, about 25 people were there. sam got a new book from auntie angela and a toy phone from grammie and grampy morin. we got sam a sand bucket with toys in it which he really liked!
well, 2 months after he rolled belly to back, sam rolled back to belly! he's such a little sloth sometimes :)
brenda is out of town this week so sam is spending monday through wednesday at auntie angela's house! i think he's having a good time, what do you think?? thanks again angie!
since we won't be seeing the simard's next sunday for easter, we decided to cook a nice turkey dinner so we could all get together. everyone made it - grammy, grampie, uncle james, uncle pete and aunt cathy (sasha & remy too). sam got some new onsies and a soft stuffed bunny. and i forgot to take pictures, oops!
this is where you'll read about the exciting (at least to me!) happenings of mr. samuel! i wanted a way to record and share what he's learning along with recent pictures. plus, for those that don't get to see him that often, it's a good way to catch up. so take a look, feel free to comment, and enjoy!
